Avocado oil is one of few edible oils not derived from seeds; it is pressed from the fleshy pulp surrounding the avocado pit. The smoke point of unrefined avocado oil is 249 °C and the refined form can reach 271 °C. It is high in monounsaturated fats making it suitable for high temperature cooking, and it’s a good source of vitamin E – to protect against cardiovascular disease, and one of the reasons it makes a great oil to use topically for the skin. #CookingOilsWeek
