Janellas Stress Belly Week: BONE BROTH.

Too much of a good thing??? CAUTION – GLUTAMINE. Have you been diagnosed with an auto immune disease, or suffer with migraines, brain fog, severe mood swings and nervous tics? Then it looks like Bone Broth may not be for you.

Also, children with nervous system disorders such as #ADD, #ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorders, should not be drinking long cooked Bone Broth. There have been many reports of seizures after drinking Bone Broth, even just a small amount.

Cooking bones for a long time creates very high levels of glutamine, which we’re told will help heal a LEAKY GUT. But that’s not the whole story.

Glutamine is regulated by the brain, so if you have Leaky Brain – as those with Leaky Gut often do – high amounts of glutamic acid/glutamine can trigger seizures if you’re prone to them.

So what to do? If you like the idea of including Bone Broth into your diet to take advantages of its health benefits, then make STOCK.

The difference is that STOCK is cooked slowly over a low heat for a shorter time. More like 30-60 minutes instead of 24-72 hours, so glutamine levels will be low.
