Janella’s Stress Belly Week: SLIPPERY ELM AND MARSHMALLOW ROOT

SLIPPERY ELM AND MARSHMALLOW ROOT POWDERs are wonderful for soothing the gut. They are ‘mucilaginous’ foods so will coat your gut all the way from top to bottom. Slippery Elm also balances the water in our colon, so it allows more in if there’s not enough (constipation), and removes some if there’s too much.

Slippery elm bark is wonderful to help relieve symptoms of IBS, ulcers and excess acidity in the body. It does this by increasing mucus secretion.

This bark contains an ingredient called mucilage, a substance that becomes gooey and gel-like when mixed with water.
When you drink a slippery elm slurry it coats and soothes your gut from your mouth to your bottom, making it very useful when treating gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diverticulitis and diarrhea.

Take 1 tsp 2-3 x a day. You’ll find both at your health food store.
