Only recently have more of us become aware of the declining population of our seafood. We are now wanting to know where it comes from, if it’s farmed or not – and in land or sea cage farms, or wild, what toxic additives have been used in the farming like artificial hormones, colourings, anti-biotics and where the feed is coming from. Do they require more wild fish to feed the farmed fish than they produce? Usually. We also want to know if a particular species has been overfished and if it contains heavy metals.
