Turmeric Oil. Da Dah! I grated 2 tbsp of fresh turmeric from the garden and added it to 2 cups olive oil in a small pot, oh and 2 small strong garlic cloves, smashed. I brought it to a gentle simmer then immediately turned it off. I let it sit overnight in the pot (covered) but next time I’ll let it sit for 2-3 days, and on the bench is fine. Give it stir a couple of times a day – to say good morning and good night perhaps. Then strain this luscious medicinal into a bottle and use it as you would olive oil. So to starting a curry, stir fry, casserole, roasted veggies, salad, or drizzle over soups or dahl etc before serving – just like olive oil. The colour is beautiful so u could use it as a garnish also – drizzle over your protein to serve perhaps. I’m going to try it again now with coconut oil and the leftover turmeric pulp, and add some grated ginger and smashed lemongrass. #janellasrecipes
Turmeric OIl – It;s been a popular recipe so here ’tis again. Both turmeric and olive oil are great anti-inflammatory’s fro the cooler months. #janellapurcell
